Traditional Political Powers will do Everything They can to Remain in Power.
This upcoming presidential election is shaping up to be one of the most important elections in history. The US economy is struggling, foreign powers continue to threaten our way of life, energy cost are sky rocketing, and environmental changes threaten the planet. The next president will have a full-plate of critical issues that need to be address. It is clear that the status-quo of the American political system is no longer getting the job done. Barack Obama is a man who is going against the traditional political process in his quest for the presidency. However, this quest hasn't been without it's roadblocks. The traditional political powers continue to try exploit any minor issue into major ones in an effort to do stuff. One of the most controversial stories coming out about Obama involves his former pastor Jeremiah Wright.
The media has played up on a series of Youtube clips that have appeared on the internet showing pastor Wright making comments that the media has deemed un-American. These comments mostly involve Wright discussing America's part in trying to police the world which lead to hatred from other countries and promoted the 9/11 attacks. Once these clips were exposed to the media, may people used them as a way to bas Obama as an anti-American. It is a shame that people would pull extremely small piece's fo pastor wrights sermon and judge him in a certain way. The media has turned one of the most influential pastors in Chicago and used him to try to ruin Obama. The news has never talked about all the positive contributions that Wright has made to the community over the long years that he was pastor. There was no discussion about the hundreds of young people who were inspired by Wright's sermons and choose to live a positive life instead of going down a life a crime as so many others do.
It is good to see that despite the many negative attempts to disgrace Obama that he still is in the lead for the presidential nomination. Obama is clearly the best person to steer the country away from it's normal business as usual attitude. Using made up accusations and disgracing a great pastor shows that there are powers that will do anything to hold on to that power. Pastor Wright has been great for the community and should be honored, not shamed.
